Amazon Nightmare: Woman Gets Flooded With Packages After Seller Uses Her Address

For over a year, Kay Holton’s San Jose home became an unintended warehouse for hundreds of Amazon packages she never ordered.

“It started with one package,”

Kay told ABC7 News, puzzled by a box that bore her address but wasn’t meant for her.

“I went to my neighbors, thinking, ‘Did someone put the wrong digit on the address?’”

But the single box multiplied into a relentless flood, piling up in her driveway, blocking her mailbox, and turning her daily life into what she calls

“another form of hell.”

The packages, mostly faux-leather car seat covers, came from a Chinese seller named Liusandedian, operating under the brand “Etkin” on Amazon. Customers, dissatisfied with seat covers that didn’t fit their vehicles, were returning them en masse. Unbeknownst to them, Liusandedian had listed Kay’s home as their U.S. return address, exploiting a loophole to avoid costly international shipping back to China.

“What you see now is a fraction,”

Kay said, gesturing to stacks of boxes cluttering her carport.

“I’ve refused delivery on more packages than you see here.”

The emotional toll was immense. Kay, who cares for her 88-year-old disabled mother, struggled to navigate the chaos.

“We came home, and it was like this couldn’t even get my mother in the house,”

she shared with ABC7 News. The packages obstructed her driveway and doorway, making daily tasks a logistical nightmare.

Amazon’s policy requires international sellers to provide a valid U.S. return address, offer a returnless refund, or supply a prepaid return label within two days of a return request. If sellers fail to comply, Amazon may refund buyers and charge the seller’s account. Liusandedian sidestepped this by using Kay’s address, leaving her to deal with the fallout.

“This is thousands of dollars they’ve paid to send these boxes back to my house!”

Kay exclaimed, pointing to a pile as tall as her BBQ. Over 40% of Liusandedian’s Amazon reviews were one-star, with customers complaining about ill-fitting products and refund issues, like one who wrote,

“Why haven’t I received my refund? Was sent thru UPS three weeks ago.”

Kay filed six complaint tickets with Amazon, each time receiving assurances that the deliveries would stop.

“Every time, I was absolutely assured this will stop,”

she told ABC7.

“You’ll hear Queste within 24 to 48 hours.”
