Travis Hunter and his wife, Leanna, have made a significant real estate investment, purchasing a luxurious 13-room mansion in Jacksonville’s prestigious Deerwood Country Club for $3.275 million. The transaction was completed on May 30, 2025, just days after the couple tied the knot in Tennessee.
The impressive estate spans 8,125 square feet across two stories and occupies a sprawling 7.5-acre lot. The mansion was built in 1995 and boasts five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a four-car garage. Its standout features are a swimming pool, tennis court, private theater, and wine cellar. Located within the gated Deerwood Estates section of the community, the property offers enhanced privacy and security, ideal for the high-profile couple. Its proximity to the Jaguars’ training facility at the Electric Center and EverBank Stadium makes Hunter’s professional commitments convenient.

The Hunters conducted an exhaustive search before settling on this mansion. After the NFL Draft, Travis’s brother and Travis toured 16 properties across Jacksonville. According to listing agent Angela Stringfellow of Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners, this home—the final one they viewed—stood out.
“It was really special,”
Stringfellow said Hunter “took the time to appreciate the home and the family that lived there.” The property’s charm was further enhanced by its resident wildlife, including deer and an owl that has called the grounds home for 15 years. The purchase, facilitated through a limited liability company registered by the couple on May 9, 2025, set a new sales record for the Deerwood Country Club community.

The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter, was selected as the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Renowned for his versatility as both a cornerback and wide receiver, Hunter is poised to sign a rookie contract valued at $46.5 million over four years. He married Leanna De La Fuente—also known as Leanna Lenee—on May 24, 2025, in a private ceremony at The Barn at Faith Farms in Athens, Tennessee. The couple’s journey began at Collins Hill High School in Georgia, where they met and started dating in 2022. They nurtured their relationship through Hunter’s college football career at Jackson State and Colorado.
Deerwood Country Club, established in the 1960s as Jacksonville’s first gated country club community, provides an elite backdrop for Hunter’s new chapter. He joins a roster of current and former Jaguars players in the neighborhood, including ex-placekicker Josh Scobee and defensive tackle John Henderson. The community offers an 18-hole golf course and a state-of-the-art aquatic center with swimming facilities and club spaces. Residents greeted the Hunters warmly, with a social media post declaring,
“The Jag is on the loose! Deerwood Country Club extends a warm welcome to the Hunter family.”

The mansion’s previous owners, Gregory Blair Stringfellow and Angela Evangelista Stringfellow, acquired it in September 2010 for $1.1 million from former Green Bay Packers safety LeRoy Butler and his wife, Rhodesia Lee Butler. Butler, a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee in 2022 and Super Bowl XXXI champion, owned the property during his post-NFL years.
This lavish purchase marks another milestone for Hunter as he gears up for his rookie NFL season with the Jaguars, which will kick off against the Carolina Panthers on September 7, 2025. With a stunning home base now secured, the young star and his wife are putting down roots in Jacksonville, both on and off the field.
