A critical mistake by one of the suspects in the murder of rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter R’mani Sibley led to his swift arrest. Authorities say 24-year-old Adonis Robinson left his Texas identification card inside the getaway vehicle, providing investigators with the crucial evidence needed to track him down.
The tragic shooting, which took place at a car wash in Forest Hill, Texas, shocked the local community and the hip-hop world. With both suspects now in custody, law enforcement continues to investigate the motive behind the deadly attack.
On the morning of March 4, 2025, at Slappy’s Car Wash, 30-year-old Ronnie Sibley, known in the music world as G$ Lil Ronnie, was vacuuming his car when two armed men stepped out of a white 2016 Kia Rio and opened fire. Security footage captured the horrifying moment as Sibley tried to escape, running for his life while the gunmen pursued him.
But amid the chaos, an innocent victim was also caught in the gunfire—his 5-year-old daughter, R’mani, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of his vehicle. Tragically, she was struck by stray bullets and did not survive.
Forest Hill Police responded to the scene just before 11 a.m., but despite life-saving efforts, both victims were pronounced dead. Dozens of shell casings littered the ground, evidence of the brutal nature of the attack.
In the days following the shooting, investigators were determined to track down the killers. Their first breakthrough came when Fort Worth police located the white Kia Rio at an apartment complex. Security footage showed two men—matching the description of the shooters—arriving just minutes after the attack. They parked the car, tossed away objects into a grassy area, and entered an apartment.
When authorities searched the vehicle, they made a shocking discovery—inside the car was Adonis Robinson’s Texas identification card. The oversight instantly linked him to the crime.
“That’s the kind of mistake we hope for in investigations like this,” said an officer involved in the case. “One careless move, and it unravels everything.”
Robinson had borrowed the car from his girlfriend, who told police he had called her after the shooting, instructed her on where to find the vehicle, and vaguely warned that “something had happened.”
After securing capital murder warrants, police arrested Adonis Robinson on March 7 in Polk County. His alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Jakobie Russell, was captured the following day. Both are now in Tarrant County Jail—Russell on a $1.5 million bond and Robinson without bond.
Both men had extensive criminal histories. Robinson was a convicted sex offender, released from prison in August 2024. Russell had past arrests for assault and weapons charges.
Despite their arrests, the motive for the attack remains unclear. Police hinted at a possible connection to the music industry, but details have not been confirmed.
Forest Hill Police Chief David Hernandez addressed the speculation but remained tight-lipped.
“It’s all part of the investigation,We’re looking at all possible connections.”
Hernandez said.
The senseless killing of Lil Ronnie and his daughter has deeply affected the community. A memorial has been set up at Slappy’s Car Wash, with flowers, candles, and messages of condolence.
Resident Victoria Camacho, who left a teddy bear at the site, expressed her heartbreak.
“It’s devastating. A 5-year-old lost her life… just sitting in the car. It’s hard to process.”
The car wash has since reopened, but a police officer now stands guard, a reminder of the tragedy that unfolded there.
With the suspects now behind bars, the focus shifts to securing justice for Lil Ronnie and R’mani. As the investigation continues, law enforcement will seek to uncover the real reason behind the attack.
