California Businesswoman Shot Dead in Divorce Dispute—Chilling Video Released

The brutal murder of successful and well-connected businesswoman Yesenia “Jessica” Torres shocked the state of California with serious implications about safety, domestic violence, and targeted violence. Torres was 44 when ambushed and shot to death at a well-established restaurant in San Bernardino on January 10, 2025, while a surveillance video captured the horrific scene.

Torres, a well-respected businessman in the San Bernardino area, had finished dining while being confronted by a man with a pistol at the side of the Mercedes sport utility car. The fuzzy but horrific video is the scene of the moment a 31-year-old attacker, later to be identified as Gerardo Llamas-Torres, chased her around the car and then shot her down with impunity. Witnesses to the scene recall the horrific scene of screams, pandemonium, and the bloodcurdling shatter of gunfire that filled the evening atmosphere.

For many in San Bernardino, a city already battling rising crime rates, this execution-style killing has heightened fears about personal security.

“It’s scary to think someone could be watching you for months, waiting for the right time to strike,”

said Maria Delgado, a local business owner.

“It makes us all question how safe we really are.”

As the community mourns Torres’ loss, investigators have pieced together a sinister murder-for-hire scheme allegedly orchestrated by her estranged husband, Sergio Reveles, 53. According to authorities, Reveles, embroiled in a contentious divorce battle with Torres, recruited a team of four men to stalk and ultimately assassinate her.

Detectives believe the killers had been trailing Torres for months, carefully studying her routines before executing the attack. This revelation has fueled conversations about the deadly consequences of domestic disputes and how seemingly ordinary separations can spiral into unimaginable violence.

“We’re talking about premeditated murder, not a crime of passion,”

Said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokesperson Lt. Daniel Herrera.

“This was a well-planned, ruthless act designed to permanently silence the victim.”

Authorities moved quickly, arresting three suspects on January 16, 2025, including gunman Gerardo Llamas-Torres and getaway driver Arnoldo Ruelas. Investigators linked the suspects to a San Bernardino-based pallet business co-owned by Torres and Reveles, where they allegedly plotted the attack.

“The connections between the perpetrators and the victim were crucial in cracking this case,”

Lt. Herrera added.

“We have strong evidence tying all involved parties to the crime.”

Law enforcement officials continue searching for additional suspects believed to have played a role in the killing.
