The South Florida Rapper Hunkers Down and Shares A Noir-ish New Video/Single, His First Since December’s Deadstar 2 Album
Smokepurpp, the South Florida rapper, keeps his fans satisfied during these times by sharing a new video/single titled “excuse me.” This release marks his first since December’s Deadstar 2 album. In the song, Smokepurpp showcases his escalating flexes over a noir-inspired instrumental, reminiscent of a detective film from the 1950s. The accompanying video demonstrates responsible social distancing as Smokepurpp dances with a few friends at home, showing off his tennis court, closet, and gold records. Deadstar 2, produced by Mike Dean, is an album packed with sonic detail, featuring buzzing singles like “Dirty Dirty,” “Stevie,” and “Audi II.” With guest appearances from artists like Lil Skies, Denzel Curry, Trippie Redd, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Pump, and Moneybagg Yo, Deadstar 2 showcases Smokepurpp’s versatile appeal that suits both headphone listening and festival moshing.
