The Carters Helped The Louvre Reach Record Breaking Visits

After The Carters released the visuals for “Apes**t,” The Louvre experienced something they never saw coming.

For the year 2018, The Louvre reports that they saw an estimated 10.2 million visitors come through the museum’s doors. That’s about a 25% increase in visits from 2017. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s the most visitors any museum, in the entire world, has ever recorded for a single year.

The Carters recorded the “Apes**t” video in The Louvre after visiting hours were over. They released the visual sometime in June.

Throughout the video, Beyonce and Jay-Z position themselves in front of various iconic artwork. Pieces such as the “Mona Lisa, “Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the “The Coronation of Napoleon” grace the backdrop.

Carters Helped the Louvre Reach Record Breaking-1

Staff working for The Louvre are not blind to the fact that The Carters helped bring more foot traffic in 2018 thanks to attracting more visitors to tour.

“Elsewhere in the world, interest in the Louvre was bolstered by the Louvre Abu Dhabi (which recently celebrated its first anniversary), and by Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “Apes–t” video with its tribute to some of the museum’s greatest artworks,” museum director Jean-Luc Martinez said.

This epic feat comes right after The Carters racked in $250 million from their On The Run II Tour, shut down the Global Citizen Stage and advocate for a vegan based diet. Looks their year is already stacked!

But, what do you think? Does the Louvre owe Beyonce and Jay a check? Lets us know your thoughts below!
