Tennessee Titans Derrick Henry Upsets Seattle Seahawks

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry found the will to silence the Seattle Seahawks notorious noise that wasn’t allowed back in the stadium for nearly two years due to the pandemic. The Seahawks have one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL, in fact, they have been called the “12th man” because of the noise they produce.

The Titans struggled to find success offensively all game. They finally began to lean on their All-Pro running back Henry which erupted the Titan’s offense. They then started a comeback they haven’t achieved in a regular-season game for over a decade.

“I don’t think anyone thought we would win here,” Henry remarked. “But I knew that if we stayed united, believed in our principles and our coach’s teachings, and played the way we practiced, things would eventually fall into place for us.”

    Tennessee Titans Fourth-Quarter Takeover

Henry recorded 182 yards and two fourth quarter touchdowns. One of the game-changing touchdowns was a 60-yard momentum shifter which snowballed into the comeback entirely. Randy Bullock hit a 36-yard field goal in overtime to seal the deal for the Titan’s comeback. They rallied from a 14-point deficit to shock the Seahawks on the road.

“It just never ceases to amaze me. We just got to keep being in opportunities and being in football games where he can help us affect the outcome,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said. “That’s really what happened today.”

The Titans were down 24-9 a halftime and the deficit was cut into but early in the fourth quarter down 30-16. Although, the Seahawks welcomed fans back in the stadium. Since the 2019 season they, unfortunately, all went home in silence, thanks to Henry. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill also capitalized on opportunities in the fourth quarter. The last time they pulled off an even bigger comeback was in 2006 against the New York Giants. They were down 21-0 at halftime and rallied back to win 24-21.

“When he starts rolling, he’s a threat,” remarked Jamal Adams, safety for the Seattle Seahawks.
