Snoop Dog’s Daughter Reveals Her Mental Health Struggles

Several celebrities have come forth to reveal their struggles with mental health. While fortune and fame solve most problems, they can’t fix a person’s mental state. In fact, famous personalities have revealed that fame only puts a magnifying glass to their mental health issues. Living in the spotlight with our personal problems on full display can make life difficult. Despite the hardships, however, it helps knowing that we’re not alone in our struggles.

Back in May, Snoop Dog’s 21-year-old daughter Cori Broadus opened up about her suicide attempt. Luckily, with the help of family and friends, Broadus recovered. She realized that she wasn’t in her struggles alone.

Talking about our personal issues online can be terrifying. Though, if we’re lucky, people will show a little compassion and understanding. Snoop Dog’s daughter Cori Broadus took a chance on fans back in May after revealing a recent suicide attempt via social media.

On Sunday May 16, Broadus shared several photos to her Instagram account and told fans she’d hit rock bottom in her life. “The last few weeks my mental health has not been so great,” she wrote in the captions. Sadly, the world’s most famous daughter considered taking her life. We can only imagine the pain and hurt Snoop Dog and his long-time wife Shante felt after reading the post.

Regrettably, Cori Broadus’s situation is not rare. Suicide is the 10th most common cause of death in the United States. Every day, around 130 individuals choose to end their own lives. Even in a country known as the “land of the free,” mental health continues to be a major concern confronting America today.

Additionally, in her May 16 post Broadus thanked her support system. “At one point I tried to end my life, but you & my family really give me a purpose to live. You helped me realize life is much more than materialistic things. I just have to keep pushing through the bulls**t. THANK YOU,” Broadus wrote on Instagram. In the end, Cori Broadus realized that she had a reason to live.
