    Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez Speaks Out

Aaron Hernandez’s former fiancée sat down with Good Morning America this morning to talk about some hard topics discussed in the new Netflix documentary about his life.

The docuseries aired on Netflix on Jan. 15 and immediately shocked the world with remarks about his sexuality. Hernandez’s former friend and high-school teammate, Dennis Sansoucie, featured throughout the series reflecting on his apparent sexual relationship with Hernandez. Sansoucie discusses the problem with ‘toxic masculinity’ and how it affected Aaron’s identity.

This news came as a shock to viewers, but especially to his friends and family. The former tight ends fiancee shares a daughter with the late Hernandez.

Jenkins-Hernandez says she’s not sure if what Sansoucie says is true. And adds that she feels that his sexuality should have been left out of the series.

“You can’t describe someone’s sexuality without them being here,”. She continued “Although I have a child with Aaron, I still can’t tell you how he was feeling inside. No one can.”

Shayanna said she knew Sansoucie in the past but not very well, adding that he didn’t play a role in Aaron’s adult life.

With tears in her eyes, she told ABC’s Amy Robach, “You start to feel for people that may be hiding inside how they really feel. And I–I feel awful for that.”

Jenkins-Hernandez expressed that there were no signs that led her to question her fiancee’s sexuality but wishes he would have told her if the rumors were true.

“I wish that he — you know, he would’ve told me ’cause I wouldn’t — I would not have loved him any differently. I would have understood. It’s not shameful and I don’t think anybody should be ashamed of who they are inside, regardless of who they love. I think it’s a beautiful thing, I just wish I was able to tell him that.”

Controversy surrounds the documentary with claims that to much focus is given to Dennis Sansoucie and Hernandez’s sexuality. Rather than Aaron’s life or his crimes.

In April 2015, Hernandez was found guilty for the murder of his fiancee’s sister’s fiancee (wtf), 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was shot six times in a Boston suburb. That said, Shayanna stuck by Hernandez throughout the trial and still claims his innocence to this day.

What are your thoughts on Hernandez or the docuseries? Is it bogus?
