Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” Will Soon Reach Diamond Status

An artist knows they’ve made it once they reach the top of the Billboard Charts. The moment their record goes platinum, they’re untouchable. Compton rapper Roddy Ricch had a whirlwind of a year back in 2020, despite the novel pandemic. The honey-eyed rapper made several hit records throughout his short rise to fame. Though, his hit track “The Box” has fans jamming out everywhere. As of January, the track has now gone platinum 8 times. With 10 million sales already in the bag, Ricch’s “The Box” is just 2 million sales away from reaching Diamond status. We’re sure the Compton rapper celebrated the big news.

Some emcees just have “the juice” or rather, raw talent. At just 22-years-old, Roddy Ricch has won a slew of accolades including a Grammy win. He even has two chart-topping tracks in just the course of two years. Ricch’s first single “The Box” secured the No. 3 spot on Billboards Hot 100 list in 2020, as well as the No. 7 spot on YouTube’s Trending Music list of the year. As if the song couldn’t get any bigger, it’s up for nominations at the 201 Grammys. Ricch’s first single might just make him one of the famous rappers of the decade.

Recently, the Recording Industry Association of American (RIAA) announced on January 14th, 2021 that “The Box” went platinum 8 times. The 22-year-old successfully made it into the rap scene. Fans predict that given the 10 million sales Ricch has already secured, he’ll make Diamond status in no time. Another two million sales and “The Box” will make Roddy Rich the biggest rappers in 2021.

Clearly, Roddy Ricch excels at making hit records for a living. The emcee’s rap poweress even made him one of the richest rappers out of 2020. Back in December of 2020, he made Forbes Annual 30 Under 30 List after making $20 million for the entire year. “I’ve made more this year than I have ever made in life–at home,” Ricch told Forbes. Rather than blowing all his money on fast cars and jewels, Ricch decided to invest in Compton’s commercial real estate. Not only is he a compelling artist but he knows how to make business decisions. Additionally, the rapper plans to teach financial literacy to residents in the city. “Investing in Compton. Just felt like my duty,” the rapper told Forbes. Roddy Ricch couldn’t be more humble.
