    Peter Rim: Chicago Restaurant Owner Shot Dead in Cold Blood

    Peter Rim, a Chicago restaurant owner, 46, was shot dead in his car as he sat in his car on the Northwest Side of Chicago this morning according to police. Rim died from a gunshot wound to the head due to an SUV driveby on the 4100 block of West Diversey Street around 6:45 am.

    Peter Rim owned two restaurants in Lake in the Hills. The cause of his death is currently unknown as police investigate the matter more deeply. Rim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:57 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

    “We have lost one of our own today,” the restaurants said in a statement. “Peter Rim passed away this morning surrounded by loved ones. His wild, fun, energetic and loving legacy will live on forever. We love you Peter Rim, more than words can describe. You affected so many lives here and every one here misses you so much. You are so loved. Rest easy Peter.”
