Oprah Winfrey Pisses Off Michael Jackson Fans with New Interview

Oprah Winfrey came for the wrong dead person.

Even though there have always been rumors that Michael Jackson was a child predator, it isn’t fair to be digging up his past now that he’s dead…according to some of his fans. Yet, that’s what Oprah Winfrey is doing after the latest documentary covering the King of Pop’s questionable past on the Neverland Ranch airs.

Leaving Neverland is a two-part docuseries that covers Jackson’s past-relationship with two children, age 7 and 10 years old. Wade Robson and James Safechuck make appearances, and although they denied the allegations made in 2009, their stories take a newfound turn for the truth. Their final testimony will air on Monday night, following the final part of Leaving Neverland. Winfrey’s interview will begin with Robson and Safechuck serving as her subjects.

Up until a few days ago, OprahMag.com’s digital director @ariannagab was a Michael Jackson defender and had go-to lines about separating the artist from the man or how there was never any real proof that he abused children. But then @oprah and #LeavingNeverland finally convinced her to let go of the King of Pop. Her Aha-moment: Leaving Neverland is much bigger than Michael Jackson. It’s bigger than Michael Jackson's fans, bigger than defending the soundtrack to your childhood. Instead, it is about the millions of people in this world who never got to have a childhood because of the sexual abuse they experienced before their young brains were even developed enough to know what was occurring. Many of MJ’s supporters are calling Winfrey a hypocrite, as well as a bully. In their opinions, it’s wrong to smear a person’s reputation who has no way of defending themselves. They also claim that Oprah is a hypocrite for staying silent, as she watched Harvey Weinstein abuse women for years.

According to HNHH, here’s a taste of what some people are saying.
