Miami Dolphins Star WR Tyreek Hill Woke Up And Chose Violence

    Tyreek Hill on Pat Mahomes

Former Kansas City Chiefs star WR and currently Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill takes unnecessary shots at former quarterback, reported Shanna McCarriston for CBS Sports. During this offseason, Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks. Oddly, he’s been extremely vocal since the trade, especially discussing the Dolphins’ offense. On paper, this offense has the potential to be one of the biggest threats coming out of the AFC. However, the only “unknown” is how well Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa will perform.

In Hill’s latest podcast “It Needed To Be Said” , he mentioned not wanting to become a diva yet, he also mentioned how surprised he was by their offensive approach this upcoming season.

“If teams are going to give us favorable one-on-one matchups against their top cornerback, I don’t understand why teams don’t make the most of their top receiver,” Hill stated. “And that’s where things probably went wrong between me and the Chiefs. I didn’t mean to sound arrogant or demanding, but can I have the ball sometimes, please? Just give me a chance to make plays.”

It seems that he wanted more touches in Kansas City; however, they were loaded with immense talent and it was nearly impossible. Understanding that great WRs around the league want the ball all the time! Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes did his best to keep all his talent happy. In fact, Hill was number three in receptions with (111) only to Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams, according to NFL.com .

Is Tyreek Hill wrong or right?

Throughout the podcast, Hill mentions that Mahomes accuracy lingered while giving him credit for his arm strength. He believes that Tagovailoa is more accurate, and he would take him over Mahomes. While some of this seems a bit salty and bitter at times, it’s only fair to ask, “Is he right?”

Many people saw this and truly questioned if Hill was bitter or not. ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith went on record questioning Hill’s soberness, due to the fact, that the statement may have been out of bounds a bit. Mahomes and Tua are at extremely different points within their careers. Mahomes is attempting to establish his legacy and built upon his already impressive resume. On the other hand, Tagovailoa is simply attempting to prove to the world he shouldn’t be considered a “bust”.

Does Mahomes deserve as much credit as he gets?

Hill questioned Mahomes validity and recognition as a player without him. He emphasized how much he truly wanted to be respected by his coaches and teammates; however, he began feeling he was overlooked.

“All that matters to me is earning respect within the team. I couldn’t care less about external fame or recognition because none of that will help us win games on Sundays.”

“I want the head coach to understand that on Sundays, the defense is afraid of Tyreek Hill. That’s what I want the head coach to know. And he already does know that. Even without the Cheetah on the field, he knows that it’ll be a tough day for Pat Mahomes,” Hill concluded.

Tyreek Hill’s contract is impressive. He signed with the Dolphins for a four-year $120 million deal with over $70 million guaranteed. While wanting nothing but respect from his teammates and coaches he will have ample opportunity to not only prove but earn his respect in a Miami Dolphins uniform.
