Miami-based Singer/Songwriter Jade Marie Unveils New Single “GOMO”

Texas-based singer-songwriter Jade Marie has released a brand new single titled “GOMO.” Making this single nothing less than a perfect mix of solid melody that builds up to a magical chorus to showcase her unique style of blending R&B and pop to create a piece of heaven. Jade Marie continues to stun the world with her fantastic talent and has shown no signs of backing down anytime soon.

Jade Marie had a conversation with us and answered our distinctive 8 Questions. Check it out below.

HYPEFRESH: So tell us, how did it all begin? What encouraged you to start playing and making music?

Jade Marie: I Started like a lot of singers in church. I was always singing. I went from the children’s choir to the youth praise team to the adult choir. One of the musicians at my church took me under his wing and started writing songs with me and recording in his studio when I was 13. I owe a lot of my creative intuition to him. Shout out to R. Cory Johnson! When I turned 18, I signed to an indie label in Nashville, TN, and toured with the Christian rap duo GRITS.

HYPEFRESH: Talk me through your creative process when you write new music.

Jade Marie: My creative process starts randomly when I’m in the shower or when I hear chord progressions that inspire me. There’s something about writing and recording my demos to minimal production, then hearing it come to life when additional production later feels so magical! I almost always hate writing to music that’s already been flushed out, as I think boxed in.

HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “GOMO”?

Jade Marie: GOMO is the breakup anthem you didn’t know you needed. I wrote this at a writing camp in New Orleans with my good friend Teleoso, a fantastic songwriter, and my husband, who initially sent over just the guitar loop. We wrote the song in about 10 minutes. The hook came first. I instantly fell in love with the song because it reminded me of the music I grew up listening to in the 90s and early 2000s. Songs like “Love You Down” and “I Want To Be Your Lady Baby” by Inoj.

HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?

Jade Marie: a friend once told me creating music is like pulling something only you heard out of the spirit realm and manifesting it into reality. That’s what I love about being an artist. It’s when I feel the most spiritual and emotional, and when I share it with others, it will resonate with someone.

HYPEFRESH: What projects do you have coming up? Can you give us any info on them?

Jade Marie: I have a few more singles coming down the pipeline that I’m both super excited and nervous about. A good nervous! There’s an EP in the works, but I’m taking my time with it.

HYPEFRESH: Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to enter the game of music?

Jade Marie: My advice to anyone hoping to enter the music business is this: Become a student of both the company and the music. The industry is so wide open for independents. There’s so much opportunity without having a massive machine behind you. I could write a dissertation on this topic, but that’s my elevator pitch. Lol

HYPEFRESH: How do you solve productivity/scheduling problems and reduce overwhelming situations?

Jade Marie: As much as I’d love to take credit for this, I have to be authentic and say that my producer/husband is the logistics KING! He’s the mastermind at making the impossible possible—even when I’m not with him, when issues come up, he’s my first call. When feeling overwhelmed, I’ve learned to take whatever “it” is one minute at a time. If I break it down like that, the mountain slowly but surely becomes a molehill.

HYPEFRESH: Name Three things you can’t live without when recording in the studio.

Jade Marie: Coffee, water, and a blanket!
