    Like all kids, Megan Thee Stallion only wanted to make her mother proud. The 26-year-old recently did an interview with Tyra Banks for Sports Illustrated where she made a shocking reveal. According to the rapper, she didn’t tell her mother she could rap until college. Everyone knows that Megan Thee Stallion’s mother was a rap star herself. The “Big Ole Freak” star often talks of her mother, who went by the moniker rap name Holly-Wood at the time.

    Furthermore, Megan Thee Stallion told Tyra Banks that “My mom didn’t know I wanted to be a rapper, but I would literally watch her in the studio all day. I’m like, ‘This lady is everything.’ I didn’t want to tell her that I could rap until I was 18. I wanted to be perfect to her.” Moreover, the 26-year-old finally confessed her secret to her mother around age 20. Moreover, the rapper reenacted her mother’s reaction, recalling her shock and surprise. Turns out rapping runs deep in Megan Thee Stallion’s family.

However, the moment of bliss was cut short when Megan Thee Stallion’s mother passed away back in March 2019. Luckily, the rapper honored her mother’s death simply by pursuing her career as a rapper. Back in September 2019, the “Th*t S**t” rapper took to Twitter where “she promised herself” that she’d continue to rap not only for herself, but also for her mother. Looks like the rapper achieved both of their dreams.
