    Lifetime’s ‘TLC Forever’ Documentary

In June, Lifetime will air a two-hour documentary about the Iconic top-selling R&B female group, TLC. Featuring interviews with surviving members T-Boz, Chilli and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the film will cover the celebratory moments of the band’s career as well as their dark, controversial and tragic history.

In a trailer for TLC Forever, the band’s original members share their thoughts on what made them great. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes formed TLC in 1990 and quickly climbed the charts with nine top-ten hits, including four number-one singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. TLC’s exceptional success: 85M records sold, 4 Grammys, 5 MTV VMAs, 5 Soul Train Awards.

The group’s success was accompanied by darkness and controversy, as TLC balanced global fame with internal fallouts, external attacks, bankruptcy and illness. When Left Eye died tragically in 2002, TLC faced immense pain and an uncertain future while feeling abandoned by the entertainment industry despite their iconic achievements. But despite all of these challenges, TLC found strength in their love and unity forging a new path to success, including launching a new tour slated for summer 2023.

Renowned for their impactful and award-winning documentary narratives, Lifetime and A+E are set to simulcast “TLC Forever” on June 3 at 8pm ET/PT. This compelling two-hour documentary will be crafted by the talents of Academy Award-winning and Emmy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams (known for “The Apollo”), alongside his production company with the collaboration of Emmy Award-winning producer Geoff Martz, One Story Up.
