Leslie Jones Bashes Sephora Following Bad Experience

Leslie Jones is the latest celebrity to call attention to Sephora’s rituals of poor customer service.

The comedian alleges that the beauty company treated her staff and friends with little to no respect. Jones made a tweet briefly describing the situation that had took place within one of their locations.

“I sent my makeup artist @LolasBeautyMark and my best friends wife to @Sephora 2103 Broadway store. She needed makeup and to learn how to apply,” Jones put in a tweet. “My makeup artist just called in tears of how bad they treated her and my friends wife!! The salesperson and manager. SO NO MORE SEPHORA.

The incident took place in New York City, at the 2103 Broadway location. Her complaint comes just before Sephora scheduled a mandatory day of inclusion training for it’s staff and corporate offices.

Following Jones’ complaint on Twitter, Sephora is said to have reached out to her to reconcile the issue at hand. Part of their statement reads, “We have reached out to Lola to gather more information. It is our priority to build an inclusive community and a place where all clients feel respected. Our journey has not been perfect and is by no means complete. We will continue to learn and work toward this goal.”

In the past, Sephora has been accused of poor customer service by others. Most recently was an allegation made by SZA. SZA alleges that a Sephora employee first followed her around the store before calling security, under the suspicion that she was shoplifting.

Sephora reached out to SZA as well.

In conclusion, do you think Leslie Jones went overboard? How do you feel after reading this story? Share your thoughts below.
