Kyle Anfernee Talks Founding The Neighborhood Talk, Expanding

    Kyle Anfernee

Kyle Anfernee is becoming a household name in the media and blogging sector. As the founder of the Neighborhood Talk, he is using his platform to make sure black culture and content has a place to survive daily in a tasteful manner. Having working with the likes of Nicki Minaj, The Real, and The Shade Room, he is one of the biggest bloggers in the game, using social media as his catalyst. As he continues to be a voice in the media sector, he has plans to take the Neighborhood brand as far as he can.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Anfernee as he candidly shared some insight on what led him to starting the Neighborhood Talk, his plans for the future and ways he plans to expand his brand in the new year. Check t out below.

    Kyle Anfernee Interview

    Tell me about your background?

I went to Pepperdine University in California. While I was there I was interning for The Shade Room all the way through my senior year in 2018. We went our separate ways and I started doing my own thing. l began writing articles and blogs for a lot of people I knew. Two days later I started the Neighborhood Talk podcast. I always had a fear of not knowing where to go from here. I went on the Real for 8 episodes and then going on Queen Radio with Nikki Minaj changed a lot for me. It was a big deal and opened up a lot of doors for me. I simply did not want to start back over and had no plans to.

What did you study in college? Major? University/College?

Went to Pepperdine University and studied Broadcast Journalism. The thing is, I never wanted to do blogs in fact, I hated it. But when I got The Shade Room the owner made it easier and more enjoyable.

How is it being a blogger?

The blogging industry is very competitive. I always tell myself, If I get this out first, I am ahead of everyone else. We try to incorporate humor in the Neighborhood Talk Blog, which is paying off because it’s so much better than the bigger blogs. I currently have some deals with Fashionnova and Zeus.

Tell me about your brands/businesses? How did you start them and why? When did you start?

I started my own business in December of 2018 called the Neighborhood Talk, after being let go from The Shade Room. The Neighborhood Talk is an online neighborhood that reminds you of a black community infused with black culture, issues, humor and comedy.

What are your goals for yourself and your business? Short-term? Long-term?

My goals are to progress and grow the Neighborhood Talk brand to one million followers on social media. I also want to get verified, and do a podcast in which celebrities are conquering their fears.

What made you want to create your brand? How did you come up with the name of your business?

The name for my blog just came to me. God was like “here you go”. I wanted it to be inclusive, to make anyone want to be a part of the neighborhood. The name just spoke for itself; what’s going on in the neighborhood.

    What are your many roles?

I am the CEO, founder and owner of the Neighborhood Talk. Working on the page is very time consumingIt’s literally being built from the ground up The page got taken down twice so that put a dent in the business”

What projects are you currently working on? What is the future for your brand?

I’m in the process of putting together something on Clubhouse right now. As far as my brand goes, I want to literally be like TMZ. I want to collaborate with ATLpics.net.

Who is your inspiration? What inspires you?

My inspiration was mixed with a little bit of fear. As I was more so the face of the Shaderoom, I had to write a letter saying I did not work there anymore on my instagram page, and I got thousands of comments and likes that inspired me to put confidence back into myself.

Any influencers, celebrities or brands you want to work with or collaborate with?

I would love to work with Rhianna on a good day. Zarina, who is Beyonce’s stylist, is someone who is also on my list as well as Chloe and Halle. Those two are the next it girls.

If there anything else you would like to share?

I have a great team with me and I want to always give them their credit. It takes a team to make an engine run. They do a lot and they are greatly appreciated at the Neighborhood Talk.
