    J. Cole Addresses 2013 Altercation With Diddy On “Let Go My Hand”

In J. Cole’s new album, “The-Off Season,” the Fayetteville rapper addressed his rumored altercation with Diddy that happened back in 2013. On the track “Let Go My Hand,” Cole rapped about the incident with the Bad Boy mogul, leaving fans stunned by his confirmation.

“But sometimes someone tried to expose me, questioning my authenticity / I had to fight to protect my reputation / There were moments of triumph and moments of defeat / Some relationships ended abruptly,” Cole raps.

“I had a recent disagreement with Puff Daddy, can you believe it? / I was such a big fan, bought his album in seventh grade and played it nonstop / It seemed like he was my favorite rapper at the time / But back then, I was ignorant, now I’m more aware.”

According to Complex, the rappers reportedly clashed eight years ago at a VMA afterparty held at the Ph-D nightclub. An allegedly intoxicated Diddy tried to pour a drink on Kendrick Lamar for his “King of New York” line on Big Sean’s “Control.” J. Cole intervened which then led to the two arguing and scuffling.

Following the song’s release, TDE president Terrence “Punch” Henderson recalled the incident on Twitter.”Haha, the legendary and hard-to-find Cole and Puff confrontation. What a night!” he tweeted.

Cole and Puff have seemingly patched things up, evident in Diddy’s appearance on the outro of “Let Go My Hand.” He prays, “Dear Lord, guide us and protect us. May every step we take align with your will.”
