Although, the Cowboys lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-29 on a Ryan Succop game-winning field goal led by Tom Brady and company. Thursday night, Prescott proved he was not only capable of competing with future Hall of Famer, Tom Brady but that he’s also in perfectly good health. He put on a jaw-dropping performance for the masses which will force teams around the league to respect that Cowboys’ offense going forward.

Taking into consideration, this was Prescott’s first game in 11 months coming off a dislocation and fracture of his right ankle. Not to mention, the strained latissimus muscle in his right shoulder limited him in training camp. The astonishing and surprising display by Prescott opened many eyes.

    Dak Prescott’s night to remember

Prescott delivered a 31-yard bomb down the field to CeeDee Lamb which put the Cowboys in position for a Greg Zuerlein 48-yard field goal late in the game. The Cowboys gave the ball back to Brady with 1:24 left to play with one timeout. Unfortunately, Brady answered Prescott’s greatness with the greatness of his own.

Prescott finished with 403 yards, 42 completions, and 58 passing attempts, and three touchdowns with one interception. This was his eighth game of throwing at least 400 yards. He has thrown for 400 yards four times in his last six starts.

“I don’t speak without purpose, so it’s a testament to the hard work I’ve put in,” expressed Prescott. “I believe that when you invest so much effort in rehabilitation, preparation, and everything that has encompassed the past 11 months to return to the field, I’m not surprised by my performance. I ran the ball, executed the things I used to do 11 months ago. In fact, I feel like I’ve improved as a player since I last played [last year]. I had set those expectations for myself, and I will continue striving to improve with every game.”
