Brooklyn Nets Postponed Next Two Games Due To COVID-19 Surge

The COVID-19 surge has been running rampant throughout the entire league let alone the Brooklyn Nets. The surge has affected the Nets dramatically. Ultimately, the postponing of two games for the Nets was seemingly inevitable. Brooklyn was set to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

“Before it became official Sunday, there had been questions from some in the Wizards’ organization as to whether their game in Brooklyn would be played. Washington continues to test daily, and this season it has had one player, Kyle Kuzma, test positive. Kuzma entered the protocols,” reported Washington Post.

The Brooklyn Nets currently have ten players in the league’s health and safety protocol. These players include the Nets’ big three, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden.

Several teams around the league are suffering from this outbreak and it’s becoming an alarming issue. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks had both of their games postponed. The Cavs had five players teat positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, per ESPN.

The postponing continues, as the NBA postponed the New Orleans Pelicans game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately, the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors suffered the same fate this past Sunday. As of now, the NBA has postponed seven games this season. The Chicago Bulls had two postponed the week prior as well.

Many fear that if this continues, it will force the NBA to move back to the bubble as they did in 2019 at the peak of the pandemic.
