Boy Freed from Kidnapper Through Jesus Song

A young boy was recently freed from a kidnapper through a song about Jesus. His story brought many people to tears.
In March 2014, 10-year-old Willie Myrick was snatched from his Atlanta home. He was then bundled into a car and driven for three hours.
During the ordeal, Myrick repeatedly sang the gospel song “Every Praise” by Hezekiah Walker. He reportedly annoyed the kidnapper so much that he was eventually forced to let him go.

    Willie Myrick

Willie Myrick, then a nine-year-old boy, was playing outside his house in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 31, 2014 when he saw money lying near a tree. He bent down to pick it up but he was suddenly grabbed and forced into a car.

During the three hours he was in the car, Willie sang a gospel song called “Every Praise” by Hezekiah Walker repeatedly until his kidnapper finally let him go unharmed.

Since then, Willie has become the inspiration for a number of people. He is now a hero and community leaders in Atlanta are celebrating him. They are also encouraging parents to teach their children to stay safe. They have even offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the kidnapper.

    Kidnapper

Kidnapping is the act of stealing someone and holding them as a prisoner until a ransom is paid. The word is thought to have come from the Greek ki-nap, meaning “to steal” and nap, meaning “snatch away.”

In 1932, Charles Lindbergh was abducted by a group of people who claimed they would kill him unless his father paid them $50,000. The crime was widely publicized, leading to the passage of the Federal Kidnapping Act.

In the 1980s, a man named Ian Ball was convicted of trying to kidnap two children, but later admitted that he had been a mental patient. He was sent to Broadmoor, a high-security psychiatric hospital.

    Kidnapping

MERCED, CA — A boy who was kidnapped by a stranger was freed from his captor’s grip through the song of Jesus. Police released chilling video Wednesday of the incident, which took place in Central California’s Merced County.

The term kidnapping is derived from the Old English word kidnap, meaning “to snatch away.” It was originally used to describe a practice of impressing males into military service (crimping) and also to describe the shanghaiing of merchant seamen in port cities.

The crime of kidnapping is a felony under federal law. It can also be charged under state law, depending on whether the victim was taken across state lines.

    Singing a song

Singing a song is one of those things that most adults think of as a talent or a skill. It is no surprise, then, that a boy was recently saved from an otherwise stifling ordeal by proving his singing chops were more than just good enough to earn him a place at the local karaoke contest.

A 10-year-old named Willie Myrick was bundled into a car for the night from his home in Atlanta, Georgia on March 31. Apparently he had been lured to the vehicle by a promise of cash. However, the true story is that the vehicle actually slowed down as he was singing his heart out to the tune of a popular gospel song. Not to mention, he may have saved the day for a couple of unsuspecting strangers.

    Police

The term “police” originates from the Greek words “polis,” signifying city, and “politia,” translating to “rule.” It is a civil force that enforces the law, protects individuals and property, and maintains order within a community. It is a constituted body that is empowered by the state to use its lawful powers of arrest and monopoly on violence against crime. It has a long history and is very diverse in its historical, geographic and organizational structure.

Last month, a 10-year-old boy in Atlanta, Georgia was kidnapped from his driveway while playing with his pet dog. He was bundled into the back of a car for three hours, but he survived because he refused to stop singing a popular gospel song. The story of Willie Myrick has inspired people all over the world to keep an eye out for kids in their neighborhoods.
