Boosie Badazz Lives By A Survival Code

Life in the spotlight seems like a dream come true for artists. However, the power of fame puts a major target on their backs. Unfortunately, life in the rap scene doesn’t always mean a better living situation. Most emcees come from dangerous backgrounds full of gang violence, murder and theft. Life in the fast lane doesn’t provide them the luxury of safety.

Luckily, Baton Rouge rapper Boosie Badazz walked away from a gunman with just a leg bullet wound last fall. The emcee recently paid witness to the murder of his long-time collaborator Mo3 in Dallas, TX. Rather than seeking justice, Boosie Badazz has remained silent on the matter. The rapper lives by one single survival code; he doesn’t snitch.

Apparently, there’s a code of conduct rapper’s live by. For Boosie Badazz, he refuses to be a snitch. Last November, the Baton Rogue rapper took a bullet to the leg after a gunman open fired on him at the Big T Plaza in Dallas, TX. Badazz simply wanted to attend a candle vigil for his friend and Badazz Music Syndicate artist Mo3, who was murdered a day before. Though Boosie Badazz survived from his injuries, he refused to help police track down the shooters. Instead, the rapper sticks with his survival code, by refusing to snitch on his enemies.

During an interview with Vlad Tv, the rapper reveals that because of his survival code, he’d let his assailants walk away free. “I wasn’t taught to be a snitch at 17, 18 years old.” I was taught to be no rat at four years old, three years old,” Badazz explained. The emcee grew up fast in a life of crime and murder. Furthermore, Badazz blasted other emcees for snitching on each other. At one point, he joked that they should band together and create a coalition called “Rat Poison.”

Badazz refuses to expose his killers, even if it could bring justice for his friend Mo3. His survival code means more to him than seeking vengeance. While Badazz didn’t give up any details about the identity of his friend’s killers, he did reveal a motive. The rapper shared with VladTv that Mo3’s killers caught him “slipping.” Up until his friend’s death, Mo3 never spoke with Boosie Badazz about any beefs between rappers or snitched on anyone. The Baton Rogue rapper suspects that at some point he tipped off his enemies, which led to his death. With so many deaths happening in the HipHop community, you’d think the industry would make more of an effort to protect our beloved emcees.
