Notably, the song showcases the exceptional talents of Gotit’s brother, Lil Keed, and the renowned Gunna, who contribute to the irresistible hook. Together, all three artists effortlessly trade verses and deliver wild ad-libs. Lil Gotit rhymes, “I don’t care what the tag, got money on my brain/And you know we gon’ live alright.” The recently unveiled visualizer skillfully combines stylish representations of Lil Gotit’s persona superimposed over a collection of striking images and lyrics from the song.

This highly-anticipated sequel to his debut mixtape in 2018 catapulted the then-19-year-old Gotit to prominence within his hometown’s music scene, establishing him as a rising star to watch. Hood Baby 2 is a testament to the rapper’s artistic evolution, featuring harder-hitting flows, wilder ad-libs, and a stronger display of his financial success. Across the tape’s 18 tracks, Lil Gotit masterfully showcases his versatility, unveiling his singing prowess on “Trap Or Die,” experimenting with overlapping flows on the project’s opening track, “Bricks In The Attic,” which has already secured spots on Spotify’s esteemed Most Necessary and Off The Strength playlists. Additionally, he effortlessly channels the essence of early trap legends like T.I. with the captivating anthem “Hood Talk.” This tape has garnered praise from reputable publications such as Complex, HYPEBEAST, and UPROXX, boasting notable guest appearances from Future, Lil Yachty, Guap Tarantino, and many more.

    Embracing the Superstar Creature
Lil Gotit has already made remarkable strides in 2020, solidifying his position as an unstoppable force. In February, the talented 20-year-old rapper collaborated with the exceptional London On Da Track to unveil their joint project, Superstar Creature, comprising 11 exhilarating tracks. This mixtape showcases Gotit’s ability to stretch his vocal range, evident in standout moments like the rapid-fire, Latin-infused “Argentina,” the melodically captivating “Freak B*tches” enriched with his falsetto prowess, and the infectious lead single “Bet Up” (amassing an impressive 2.8 million YouTube views). Not to mention the visually stunning single “Free Melly” with its mesmerizing 646k views. Featuring notable guest appearances from Polo G, Young Nudy, and Slimelife Shawty, who recently starred in the enthralling video for “Slime Hood,” Superstar Creature is now available on all major platforms through Alamo Records.

Andy Dalton Signs Deal With The Dallas Cowboys

Andy Dalton is Going to Dallas

Andy Dalton just signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys to be their back up quarterback. The deal guarantees $3 million and has an additional possible $4 million in bonuses. This comes shortly after Dalton was released by the Cincinnati Bengals.

    Why Dalton Signed with Dallas

Some might be wondering why Dalton decided to send it down to Dallas, but he is actually originally from Texas. It’s clear he still has ties there, as he lives in Dallas during the offseason. Going back home is always a great thing, especially during the current circumstances.

Shortly after signing the deal, Andy took to Adam Schefter’s’ podcast to discuss his reasoning. Apparently he had options from multiple other teams on the table but felt that signing with Dallas would be the best option for his long term plans.

Dalton sites the fact that he wanted to sign a deal with a high-class organization that is set to win. The Cowboys have a long history and a high powered offense that meets both of the criteria.

    How this Effects Dak Prescott

Some people were surprised at the signing of Dalton since Dak Prescott has yet to sign a major deal with the team. Dez Bryant posted on twitter, discussing this very point.

But in reality, Dak should have nothing to worry about. There’s no chance that Dalton will take his starting position. Dak is only 26 years old and put up solid numbers last year, especially when put in comparison to Dalton. Instead, Andy will be able to help provide a solid second option if Dak is unable to play or needs some relief.

    Final Thoughts

When it comes down to it this was a smart call for both Andy Dalton and the Dallas Cowboys. Dalton gets a chance to back home and be involved with a solid organization. He simply has to be the backup QB for 16 games and gets $3 million, which doesn’t sound too bad to me. Whereas Dallas gets a good second option for Prescott. Having a backup QB that can still perform definitely doesn’t hurt, just look at the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.

What are your guy’s thoughts though?

Do you think this was the right call for Andy Dalton and the Dallas Cowboys? Do you think Dalton will play at all this year, and if so how do you expect him to perform?

My Biggest Takeaways from Ep. 5 & 6 of “The Last Dance”

Ep. 5 & 6 of “The Last Dance”

The Last Dance is a 10 episode documentary series that focuses on Michael Jordan and the legendary 1997-98 Chicago Bulls. The series takes an in-depth look at that year’s team as well as Jordan’s rise to stardom.

Each episode in the series covers a decent amount of content, so to help recap these last two episodes I have created a list of my biggest takeaways from episodes 5 and 6 of The Last Dance.

(Check out this previous HypeFresh article the recapped the highlights of Ep. 1 & 2)

    Biggest Takeaways from Ep. 5

    5. MJ Was Like a Big Brother to Kobe

The fifth episode of the series opens with a dedication to Kobe Bryant. It goes to show how close the two really were. Jordan was quick to take note of Bryant’s skill after he entered the league. Bryant recalls how much great advice MJ gave him over the years. Kobe even went so far as to say that he wouldn’t have won all those rings without Jordan’s guidance.

    4. MJ Wanted to Sign with Adidas over Nike

At first, he had zero interest in Nike and much preferred Adidas. MJ wasn’t even considering attending the meeting with Nike until his parents convinced him to see what they had to offer. Unlike Adidas, Nike was able to offer Jordan his own shoe and showed a large interest in investing in him as their future.

    The Last Dance
    Celebrities that love Air Jordans

As everyone knows this turned out great for Nike and Jordan. The Air Jordans switched basketball shoes from just being used to play in and made them a part of fashion/culture. Within the first year alone the Air Jordan 1 was able to bring in $126 million.

    3. Winning a 2nd Championship in 1992 Was a Big Deal

Winning the first championship in 1991 was impressive, but to really establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with they had to repeat things in 1992. The Chicago Bulls met the Portland Trail Blazers in the finals. Drexler claimed him and MJ were the best players in the league.

Jordan acknowledges Drexler’s skill but still took offense to this. Just like usual when Jordan feels slighted he is able to go off. He had a great showing that ended with the Bulls winning the series 4-2.

    2. Jordan Becomes the Most Famous Man on Earth

The 1992 Olympics were the first time that NBA players would be competing. This led to the Dream Team assembling, having some of the best players of all time on the same roster. Even with players like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird on the squad, MJ was able to establish himself as the face of the team.

    The Last Dance
MJ & other players from the Dream Team

The Dream Team both put MJ and the NBA on a global level that it hadn’t experienced before. Jordan went from being known all throughout America to being possibly the most famous person in the world at the time.

    1. Fame Has its Costs

Throughout the 90s Jordan gained a wild level of stardom. But fame has its costs. People are quick to embrace celebrities until they get controversial. Apparently, for Jordan, this was not being political enough.

In 1990 there was a heated race for senate in NC between Jesse Helms and Harvey Gannt. Helms was a racist asshole, whereas Gant would’ve been the first black senate from the state. People looked to Jordan to show his support for Gannt. MJ never publically did so, which led to backlash. Certain people felt that it was MJ’s responsibility to get political.

It would’ve been great to see Jordan step up as Muhammad Ali did. But when it comes down to it athletes really have no requirement to do so. MJ is a human being just like everyone else, so he can make his own decisions. You might not agree with what he does, but it’s his God-given right to do so.

    Biggest Takeaways from Ep. 6

    5. Jordan was Competitive in Everything

Jordan’s competitive edge is the stuff of legend. Before there was the Mamba mentality of winning, there was Jordan. This episode shows just how much MJ loved winning, not just in basketball, but in life in general.

He can be seen making bets with his security, other teammates when traveling to games, and even on the golf course. A former teammate recalls Jordan asking to play in their low stakes poker game. When asked why MJ responded that he wanted to take everyone’s money on the bus.

    4. The Public Begins Taking Shots at MJ

The public works in a funny way. They love taking people and putting them on a pedal stool. But the problem with this is that it creates an unrealistic standard to live up to. After winning his second chip in 1992, a book was released titled The Jordan Rules by Sam Smith. The book brings to light stories that showed Jordan wasn’t perfect.

This includes tensions within the Bulls organization, as well as Jordan being hard on his teammates. This wasn’t the only book released that attempted to slander his name. MJ loved playing golf, and one of the people he did so with was Richard Esquinas.

    3. People Question His Gambling Habit

Richard Esquinas went to release a book titled Michael & Me in 1993, that discussed their gambling habits. People love to find anything negative about massive stars like Jordan, so this only added fuel to the fire.

During the Eastern Conference Finals of 1993, Jordan’s gambling habits were further brought into the light. After tough losses in the first two games, MJ was seen gambling in Atlantic City. The media had a heyday and began roasting Jordan for a lack of focus. When in reality he was probably just blowing off some steam. In typical fashion, Jordan responded with a stellar level of play winning the next four games of the series.

    2. The Bulls Win a Three-Peat in 1993

Winning a championship in 1993 was a major deal for Jordan and the Bulls. This would take Jordan from being a great player to being on the Mount Rushmore of basketball. After defeating the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Phoenix Suns were up next.

    The Last Dance
MJ after winning the 1993 NBA Finals

The Suns had the best regular-season record that year and were led by the leagues MVP Charles Barkley. The series was a bit of a roller coaster, having Game 3 go into triple overtime, and the final game being decided only by one point.

You would think that Michael would be the happiest person on earth after accomplishing this feat. But it would seem that a feeling of relief was also majorly present. After so many years of hard work and all the pressure the public/ he put on himself, he was simply relieved that it was finally done, at least for a little.

    1. Jordan Was Ready to Retire

A major theme present throughout this episode is the fact that being like Mike wasn’t as fun as you might think. This includes him never really having any time to himself, always being critiqued by everyone, and attempting to live up to the image that was created around him.

Jordan’s skills in basketball were out of this world, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a human being like everyone else. I commend Jordan for the way that he was able to handle that immense amount of fame. The episode ends and opens with Jordan speaking of growing tired of his life in the league and all that is brought with it.

    Final Thoughts

The Last Dance is a fantastic watch. Even if you don’t love sports, you are sure to be entertained. It’s really quite interesting to gain insight into the interworkings of the legendary 90s Chicago Bulls, as well as the life of MJ.

Tune into ESPN this upcoming Sunday to check out Ep. 7 & 8 of the documentary, where they discuss Jordan’s decision to retire for the first time.

What do you guys think though?

Are you loving this series just as much as I am? What were some of your biggest takeaways from these episodes? And do you actually want to be like Mike?

NYC Subways To Close Overnight For Cleanings

The City Does Sleep I Guess

New York City has become Ground Zero for the coronavirus. As being the largest city in the country with the highest population density, it is completely understandable why. It is also the main reason why the New York Governor and NYC’s Mayor have been taking this very seriously these past few months. Implementing strategies such as fines, curfews, and now limiting public transportation to help stop the spread of the virus.

NYC’s 24 hour public transportation zones will now be taking breaks during the night time so that way we workers can clean them to write the spread of the coronavirus. The shut down time will be between 1 AM and 5 AM. They also announced at Long Island rail and metro north subsystems will be receiving daily sanitation as well. This is a good step forward and helping to combat the virus. By giving workers in enough time to clean the virus and not have the trains running 24 seven but inevitably decrease the probability of train riders of catching the coronavirus. Hopefully this one step in the right direction will let us right to the door I’m getting out of this terrible pandemic. For an out the best thing to do is continue social distancing and if you show any signs of the coronavirus to get tested.

How do you guys feel about all of this? Feel free to Tell us your thoughts and I, section below. Let us know if future content you would like to see it’s cover. And as always, stay safe and have a good day.

New Mixtape: “Hood Baby 2” – Lil Gotit

Lil Gotit Unleashes Hood Baby 2 Mixtape via Alamo Records
The 20-year-old rapper takes his game to the next level with an impressive 18-track mixtape, featuring appearances from Gunna, Lil Yachty, Guap Tarantino, and more.
With his unique approach to trap beats and distinctive vocals, Lil Gotit represents the new wave of Atlanta trap. He tightens up his rhymes and explores a range of flows on his latest release, Hood Baby 2. As the sequel to his 2018 debut mixtape that marked him as a rising star in his hometown, this new project demonstrates Lil Gotit’s artistic growth. His flows hit harder, his ad-libs are wilder, and his success continues to grow. New Album: “Optimal Music” – Eric Bellinger and Nieman J

ERIC BELLINGER & NIEMAN J NEW ALBUM: OPTIMAL MUSIC

ALBUM FEATURES: WALE, YOUNG THUG, JEREMIH, JOE MOSES & MORE

Eric Bellinger and Nieman J debut their first collaborative album Optimal Music via OFF TOP Records/EMPIRE Distribution. The 11-track project features Wale, Young Thug, Jeremih, Joe Moses with production from Foreign Teck, J. Gramm, Mike Free and Cassio.

Eric Bellinger explains, “When Nieman said he wanted to do a joint project, I was hype from the jump. Every time we link on something whether it’s music or anything else for that matter… it adds that magical touch! When you’re collaborating with someone, TRUST is an essential factor. It’s so hard to come by in this business but when you do have it… It’s a deadly weapon!

Niem really outdid himself with this one tho, just like I knew he would. He set up writing camps with producers and songwriters. He came up with concepts and was fully hands on during the entire process. I heard him saying in an interview that he wanted to give me the experience of a major label and that’s exactly what he did. I was able to go in and re-record demos and finish up songs that needed a hook or verse here and there. This was heaven for me. To go in and just be an artist, allowed me to focus only on adding my flavor to the records. It gave me the chance to zero in on vocal arrangements, coloring harmonies and fully stacking my backgrounds… You know, all the fun stuff!”

    LISTEN TO OPTIMAL MUSIC

Nieman J adds, “I’m a creative who had taken a step back to handle the business side so that Eric could get his story out the way he envisioned first. I feel that now is the perfect time because we’ve not only fulfilled that, but he’s been blessed with incredible success as an artist, husband and business man.

Creatively I’ve already contributed to Born II Sing Volume 2 and 3 and The Rebirth. The Rebirth was a classic album we put together. But now, Optimal Music is a project that he could sit back and relax on instead of having to pick every beat and write every word and pick every cover art and every color and font. This time I rolled up my sleeves and picked every beat. Picked every concept. Picked every writer. Put this whole project together and Eric got to chill out and come to the studio and record much like how a major label artist does.

It also let me show a different side other than just being a manager. I can put together a full project from beginning to end: A&R, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, All of the above. With the resources I have, I’m better suited than most to put these types of projects together. This is an album full of songs that just flows and sounds good! This is Optimal Music!”

Following their viral #ClimaxChallenge that was a tribute to their big bro Usher, this week kicks off their #CouchStandingChallenge. Their latest single “Couch Standing” delivers the club party to the crib. With the challenge, participants imagine that they’re back at the club, in their own section, rocking out on top of the couch! Eric Bellinger’s Instagram and TikTok accounts are hosting the challenge videos. “Couch Standing” is the album’s fourth single following the sensual “Say Less,” the smooth and soulful “Blessed” and certified banger “Cheat Code Mode.”

In the meantime, the duo keeps their Instagram Live buzzing with the exciting acapella singing competition called Malibu Nights. During each contest, 8 talented singers take the virtual stage, performing live for 3 rounds. Viewers can comment and vote for their favorites until a deserving winner is crowned. Make Beats Using Thousands Of Free Audio/Video Materials

Library of Congress Offers Free Audio/Video Materials to Make Music

Citizen DJ is part of the Innovator in Residence Program at the Library of Congress. The program is set to be released this summer and will offer thousands of free video/audio clips to make music with.

    How to Use Citizen DJ

This program allows you to select from multiple categories of free audio/video files. You can select a category and scan across several sound clips to hear what they sound like using your mouse. The files are grouped are cross the screen by location and color that correspond to the similarity of what they sound like.

    Remix Tool

After you find an interesting sound file you can select the Remix Tool and begin to play with it. This tool takes the sample you chose and puts it in a musical sequence. The Remix Tool offers a range of cool features.

Make Beats Using Thousands of Free Audio

Some of the features include slowing or speeding up the BMP, changing the beat pattern (ie: from 60s or 70s funk to 90s hip-hop), and being able to add different types of drum machines. The tools for the program are in development, but can still be used to choose from several audio/video files to remix and make beats with.

After finding a cool sample, you can download it to your individual music production software. Citizen DJ also offers bulk downloads of clips with Sample Packs that gives you the ability to import thousands of audio clips.

How Citizen DJ Helps Sampling in Hip-Hop with Free Audio/Video

The creator of this program Brian Foo made Citizen DJ in order to allow for people to have access to a vast range of sounds and hopefully create music. The beat for a song really sets the foundation for what’s to come. Even if you might not realize it, pretty much any sound can be sampled and used to create music or a beat. Check out this clip from the movie Baby Driver to see what I mean.

Some of the weirdest, most random, and even old audio clips can make for the best samples. This is made evident by legendary producers such as MF DOOM, RZA, J Dilla, Madlib, the Alchemist, and others who have been able to craft some of the wildest beats over the years thanks to the unique samples that they select. Hopefully, this program will help in providing artists with creative sounds to select from when creating music.

    Final Thoughts

Citizen DJ offers a pretty cool way to get creative with making beats or music. I have personally never attempted to make beats before, but after messing around with the tools on the website I have to say it seems pretty fun.

Thankfully the sounds that are offered are Citizen DJ are fully yours once you have downloaded them. Therefore you are free to do what you want with the music that you create such as give it away, perform it, or sell it. So go out there, have fun, and start creating music!

What do you guys think about Citizen DJ though?

Are you interested in making music or beats, if so was this program useful? And even if you haven’t made beats/ music before did you find this program to be fun or enjoyable?
