According to the New York Times, A chamber ensemble comprising of Solange’s musical collaborators and members of the City Ballet orchestra will be performing the score.
Beyoncé Celebrates Solange
Beyoncé took to Instagram to acknowledge her younger sister’s accomplishment and say this was a monumental moment!
The Grammy Award winner writes to their beloved sister, expressing their deep admiration and pride in her, but finds it difficult to put it into words. “You are a visionary and one of one. The piece you composed is phenomenal. I love you deeply.”
As per CBS News, Lido Pimienta became the first Black woman to create a score for the NYC Ballet in 2021.
Solange’s original score is for Play Time and choreographed by Gianna Reisen. With all her hard work in writing music, she has turned her expertise into something beautiful.
Beyoncé concluded her post with what she had to say to people that would minimize her sister’s accomplishment.
“Might I suggest you don’t f*** with my sis,” she wrote.
Fans can buy tickets and still have a chance to see the piece. Word around town, it is something extraordinary.
