Anna Delvey Twirls Her Way to Redemption on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Anna Delvey to the world, is back at what she does best. The grifter who once posed as a rich German heiress to swindle banks, rich hotels, and high-society acquaintances is on the next mission to grace the dance floor on the popular show “Dancing With The Stars“.

A Russian-born, German-raised young woman who moved to New York City in her early twenties, Delvey created a well-thought-out character for herself-that of a rich heiress for whom everything is in plenty. Her appeal and charisma enabled her to enter into the elite social circles of the city, whereby she was able to convince many individuals and institutions to invest in her phony schemes.

Delvey’s fraudulent case finally caught up with her when, in 2019, she was found guilty on most counts: grand larceny, attempted grand larceny, and theft of services. She was sentenced to 4 to 12 years but granted an early release in 2021 for good behavior.

Despite all the things Delvey did wrong in the past, Delvey has kept making headlines. She has been the subject of a Netflix series, “Inventing Anna,” and was just approved to compete in “Dancing With The Stars.” Producers of that show seemed quite intrigued with Delvey’s story and thought her participation might offer her some kind of chance for redemption in the public eye.

With Delvey ready to hit the floors, many speculations beg the question of what motivated such a move to join the show. Some people think that she possibly may want some form of redemption or merely try to cash in on her fresh new fame. Whatever her motives, one thing is for sure: Delvey is going to stir debate and raise eyebrows with her appearance in “Dancing With The Stars.”.
