    All Eyez on Me: The 2Pac Album That Inspired French Montana’s Music Career

    Moroccan-born rapper French Montana has mastered nearly every formal shift of 21st century hip-hop. His rise is nothing short of meteoric. He started creating and distributing rap DVDs which made him a street legend in New York City. His “Unforgettable” collaboration with Rae Sremmurd placed third on Billboard’s Hot 100.

    French Montana Is Taking Hip-Hop to the Next Level

    While Montana’s artistry won’t appeal to lyrical purists, his club anthems have found an audience in clubs world wide. The global rise of trap music has been a perfect match for Montana’s blend of Miami and South-style production with Bronx NY zeal. 

    The popularity of Montana’s singles and the buzz surrounding him led to a joint venture deal with 2 major labels. Montana Rick Ross’ Maybach Music and Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, propelling his debut album. Although he had the backing of two major labels, Montana was quick to point out that he retained creative control over the project. Montana exclaimed he would only release what he wanted to hear.

    French Montana Praises Tupac’s All Eyez on Me

    After the success of his debut, Montana continued to make a name for himself by collaborating with a slew of popular artists. He appeared on the singles with Joe Budden, Schoolboy Q, ASAP Rocky, Trinidad James, and more. He also collaborated with Miley Cyrus and Will.i.am for his first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

    He also partnered with Harry Fraud to create an album called Montega.

    Along with his music career, French Montana has a philanthropic side to him as well. He has launched a campaign with Global Citizen called “Unforgettable Healthcare.” He aims to improve maternal and infant healthcare in Uganda. He also recently filmed a music video for his single “Famous” in Morocco, which shed light on the poverty-stricken region he grew up in.
