50 Cent’s ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Breaks Records With Season 3!

STARZ said the season 3 premiere of 50 Cent’s Power Book II: Ghost drew 5.8 million multiplatform viewers, smashing the network’s previous record. As reported by Deadline, the season premiere saw a remarkable 30% increase compared to the season two premiere back in November 2021. 50 Cent breaks more records with season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost!

    50 Cent can’t stop winning!

The third season of Power Book II: Ghost picks up immediately after the series finale of its predecessor, with Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) readjusting to life without his late father and finding himself entangled in a world of drugs with his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) behind bars. He wants to get out of the game for good, but a ruthless new connect interrupts his plans and puts him, Brayden Weston (Gianni Paolo) and Effie Morales back into business with the Tejadas as they are challenged to move more weight than ever before.

Meanwhile, Tariq tries to stay on top of his grades, while juggling the romance and legal issues that are keeping him busy as well. But he soon realizes that he can’t escape the past or the legacy of his father, and he must become the best version of himself — the better for the people who love him, but also for himself.

He must work harder and smarter than ever, and he must do it while avoiding the temptation to take on a rival drug family led by Monet Stewart Tejada (Mary J. Blige) that has been in the game much longer than he.

    Tariq gets busy

But Tariq finds his dream becoming increasingly difficult as he battles to pay his mother’s attorney David MacLean (Method Man), who is fighting to free her from prison, and as he struggles to keep up with the demands of running a business and a family. As he tries to find his way back to himself, Tariq also begins to suspect that a former mentor may be working with Pink Sneakers (Damien Pratt), who killed Tariq’s father and Tommy.

In the end, he must face a shocking revelation that will force him to reckon with his past. He must also deal with an investigation threatening the entire family’s business, and he must confront his own betrayals from those closest to him.

In the end, Power Book II: Ghost proves to be a solid addition to Starz’s line-up of original series and it’s certainly worth watching if you like crime dramas with high stakes and plenty of action. It’s a series that can stand up against the cynicism of today’s media landscape and offer a fresh and compelling look at how African Americans are treated in our culture. The cast is impressive, with Michael Rainey Jr., Mary J. Blige, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Gianni Paolo, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray and Berto Colon among the stars. The show is executive produced by Courtney Kemp through her company End of Episode, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.
