J.Cole Supports “Out Of Omaha” Documentary

One of the illest emcee’s “J.Cole”, is putting his name behind a new documentary called “Out Of Omaha”.

The film is directed by Clay Tweel, the documentary follows African-America identical twins Darcell and Darrell Trotter in Nebraska’s largest city.

Out Of Omaha has changed me more than any other film I’ve made, and not only because I’ve been making it since 2010. Darcell and Darrell’s story is intimate in its presentation, yet inseparable from the social issues of America today,” says Tweel. “Making it forced me to deepen my understanding of generational poverty, race relations, and the lottery of birth in this country.”

He continues, “I want Out Of Omaha to evoke empathy, offer validation, and ultimately be a moving portrait of hope in the face of oppression. Darcell and Darrell have my gratitude and respect for life. I cannot wait to introduce them to the world through the film.”

J.Cole added, “Omaha is the story that never gets told. These are the forgotten ones that the world so often overlooks. The story of these two boys-turned-to-men resonated with me in part because I’ve known them my whole life. Not personally, and not literally, but their stories parallel too many of the boys I grew up with, caught between a rock and hard place and bound for pain.”

The 92-minute documentary will premiere at DOC NY on Saturday, November 10th.
